Dallas, Texas

I visited Dallas for a Redskin Game held at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.  This is the home of the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL).  The facility is also used for concerts, basketball games, college and high school football games, soccer matches send Spartan races.  There are open party area sections behind seats in each end zone and on a series of six elevated platforms, all connected by stairways.  It also has the world’s 24th largest high definition video screen, which hangs from 20-yard line to 20-yard line.

i participated in 2016 The National Bowling Association Leagues in Dallas, TX.  We stayed at the Westin Dallas Park Center.  This facility should have been completely shut down and reopened after all of the reconstruction was complete.  This facility was in the middle of a major reconstruction/renovation project.  The facility was in complete disarray.  Discard old furniture blocked most of the parking on the first and second levels of the parking garage.  Each day at 8am the water was shut off and the annoyingly loud contruction sounds began.

We ate at the YO Ranch Steakhouse located on Ross Avenue in downtown Dallas, TX.  The restaurant was elegant but empty.  I ordered the 32 oz Prime Cowboy Bone in Ribeye steak dinner and a bottle of red wine.  The wine was good.  My $48 steak however was a large piece of perfectly seared fat with very little bone.   It was totally unedible.  They apologized repeatedly and my wine was on the house.   We left downtown Dallas and headed to Mia’s Tex Mex Restaurant.

Mia’s Tex Mex Is one of my favorite restaurants in Dallas and is located on Lemmon Avenue in Dallas, TX near AT&T Stadium.  The food is alway excellent and plentiful; served in a cozy and traditional Mexican atmosphere.  This restaurant is also a favorite for Dallas Cowboys, local celebrities, famous stars and everyone else.  Even if you are not hungry the wonderful aromas in the air will entice you to indulge in a taste of the home styled Mexican dishes.

My other favorite is Smokey John’s BBQ Home Cooking & Catering located in the heart of Dallas and serves the best smoked sausages, ribs, brisket, fish and side dishes slowly cooked to perfection.  This is a family owned restaurant with live jazz musicians on certain days.  This is an incredible lunch time delight or early dinner delight!  It is in close proximity to the airport.
